- Works with any standard database, including Microsoft Access, HomeBase™ BookMaster™ Record Manager™ and BookMate™ as well as files produced by Seller Engine™ and BookTrakker.™ Also works directly with tab-delimited or UIEE files (BookWriter Werb treats them "as" databases). Full field-mapping and table selection capabilities provided for Microsoft and delimited formats. You can even use your own field names!
- Creates ready-to-publish web pages in any quantity. Reads and composes database records and applies the information on a field-by-field basis. Infinite flexibility lets you tailor your presentations to directly meet your business needs. Can also be used for auctions, catalogs and many different types of documents. - Sophisticated Hit List feature offers powerful record retrieval capabilities for all supported database and file formats. Up to 4 levels of retrieval criteria can be specified. Retrieval modes include both text and numeric ranges, as well as "Data Present" and "Data Absent" modes. These can be combined with the ability to "Match All," "Match Any," or "Match None." The "Search Only Records Already Selected" option allows recursive searching. Case-sensitive and -insensitive searches are allowed, as well as exact match options for all levels. The "Invert Selections," "Reverse Order," "Apply External List of Records," and "Apply Record Range" capabilities provide additional flexibility when organizing an entire selection list.
- Built-in multi-level Sorting provides advanced record organization capabilities. Sorting is available for all supported database and file formats. You can specify up to 4 different sort levels. The first 48 characters in any field are used for sorting purposes. Both case-sensitive and case-insensitive sorting is supported. BwWeb can also strip leading articles from text ("A" "And "The") as well as sort in Descending order (highest to lowest). Even provides selective positioning for proper sorting of numeric values.
- Produces and converts UIEE files for compatibility with all major listing services including Alibris, Amazon, ABE and many others. Produces delimited files for Froogle uploads. Even converts existing UIEE files into any desired text or HTML format.
- Produces HTML suitable for auctions. Proprietary Auction Title Composer saves time by producing readable, meaningful auction titles that fit into limited space. Here's a sample auction we've included for your review.
- You can create an unlimited number of templates, document layouts and custom settings. You can save any group of settings, modify them, recall them, even exchange settings with other BwWeb users!
- Output controls let you select single or multiple pages. You can set the number of records per page, the starting page number and the numbering increment for each group.
- Preview feature lets you see your layouts before you compose them. You can even preview your compositions in your own web browser!
- Record List provides direct selection of database records. Column headings can be set to display any field. A variety of controls provide many ways to select and organize the records you want to include in your compositions. And, BwWeb stores your selections even after you turn off the program.
- Token-driven templates provide unlimited flexibility when creating composition layouts. Anyone can do it -- simply match up the tokens with the information you want to appear in them. You can select a database field, literal text, the contents of a file or an auto-numbering series. You can even specify active links to different web pages, all automatically.
- Full typographic controls include fonts, color, alignment, treatments and more. You can even convert to capitalized, initial cap, lower case or upper case. HTML Replacements provide automatic, intelligent character substitutions to insure proper appearance in all browsers.
- Powerful calculation capability provides spreadsheet-like features. You can enter a literal formula or use Tables to create pricing tiers. Or, calculate shipping cost based on price, weight or other information -- whatever your business needs. Sample tables are included.
- Sophisticated Image Composer provides direct, powerful control over image presentations. You can specify the appearance, image size, layout arrangement, image alignment, image file source and filename handling. Use images on your own computer or images residing on an image hosting site. You can even create automatic links to full-sized images in your composed pages!
- Flexible Banner Composer creates a structured banner (masthead) at the top of your composed pages. Separate controls for graphics, layout, business name and tagline provide an unlimited range of possibilities for professional, dynamic presentations.
- Text and File Substitution capability provides explicit, direct replacement of static information for named tokens. The ability to insert complete files in your composed pages is extremely powerful. You can include a list of links, shopping cart HTML code, Java scripts -- anything you want!
- Complete Document Control capabilities insures your pages will be displayed and interpreted correctly by all search engines for top ratings. Meta Tags address all relevant and required components to insure proper indexing. Proprietary Anti-Spam Algorithm insures strict compliance with web spider evaluation requirements for top ratings in search results. BwWeb even collects Titles and Keywords from your database records!
- Sophisticated Automatic Page Editing features eliminate spurious punctuation, multiple spaces. Intelligent replacements of undesired and/or ambiguous characters can save hours of work.
- Full Page Body Controls let you establish all of the desired base page settings to insure consistency for all of your composed document(s). You can specify any/all aspects of the page appearance including font size, face, settings, colors, background, wallpaper and more.
- Built-in Internet browser is capable of going on-line and visiting web pages, downloading files, printing, navigating -- everything a standard browser can do. Even your existing Favorites menu can be included.
- Built-in Help system is thorough and complete, offering overviews, step-by-step instructions, control reference and a summary of how to use every area of the program. Display Help whenever you need it, get the assistance you need, then simply hit the Back button to return to the previous display, without losing your place or having to re-compose!
- Interactive Tutor explains how to use the program. Every functional area is covered in detail. You can step through each pane in sequence or jump to any desired topic instantly.
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
Microsoft Windows 95, 98, 98/SE, 2000, ME or XP, minimum 64MB RAM system memory, 20 MB free disk space. Compatible with all desktop and laptop PC hardware. Runs on a Mac using Windows emulation.
