The File tab contains controls to set up composition formatting and output requirements. It is the program's "Master Control" point.
  • The Instant Setup area lets you recall any of your previously-saved setups, or any of the many samples provided with BwWeb.
  • The Save Current Settings area lets you store your current settings as a new setup (or overwrite an old one).
  • The Select Database area specifies the name and type of database that will be used.
  • The Select Template area lets you select the template you want to use for composition. Documents can be composed using only a template, or templates can be collected and automatically inserted into an optional Document Layout (see below).
  • The Document Layout area lets you specify an optional layout into which your composed templates will be inserted.
  • The Output area sets the page writing mode, records per page, destination and file naming method.
  • The Preview area lets you see what your composition will look like before you actually compose your final files. A variety of options are available, including previewing your pages in your own web browser.
